HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If your symptoms are due to a viral infection then treatment with antibiotics would not be helpful.

Antibiotics would help with bacterial infections not viral.

It is possible that the doctor believes that there is a bacterial component to your symptoms.

You may want to consider discussing this with him or her if you have concerns regarding the medication.

I hope this helps

Hello
If it is due to VIRUS then , no need of any antibiotics ( cephalaxine as it is only act as bactericidal i.e. kills bacteria , while no action on virus) but your doctor may prescribed for bacterial infection ( as mostly mixed type of infection produces fever ).
Tylenol or paracetmol act an an ANTI PYRETIC drug , so take it regularly .
But one thing is important , usually viral fever remain only for 7-10 days and you are having this fever from last 14 days .
In my opinion consult one more physician and get his opinion .
Good luck.
