Can Suturing A Wound Lead To Nose Block?

hi my son 3 yr old got injured at home while playing, he got wound by aluminium sharp object in left side of his nose 4 days back , wound is not so deep inside, (5x2x1)CLV suturing is made, suturing was J,LA in prolin 4-0 about 6 suture, he is taking breath in right side nose, i want to know because of suturing nose will be blocked .

I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Trauma to nose itself could lead to nasal block due to development of edema of nasal mucosa.

Wound suturing may not be the cause for nasal block.

Nothing to worry. It takes few days for the edema to subside.

Once edema subsides the block might clear.


I recommend xylometazoline nasal drops for nasal block relief. Don't use this drops continuously for more than 6 days.

He will be fine.
