Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Stress per say might not cause hair fall, but could contribute to hair fall due to certain hormonal changes induced by it in the body. However, hair fall and baldness is mostly determined genetically and hence it is not possible to cure completely by means of medication.
You can try using Minoxidil solution as it is known to stimulate hair growth by causing primarily vasodilatation of the skin.
Generally, hair fall would stop with its use by 4 to 6 months time. New hair growth would start by about 10 months and it takes its effect to be appreciated by 1 year. The medication needs to be used for 3 to 5 years regularly to sustain the effects obtained.
However, if the hair follicles are blocked or destroyed completely, use of minoxidil would not bring about the desired effect.
Along with it, a combination of taking Tablet.Finasteride 1mg everyday, could also be beneficial as it would counter the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a metabolite of testosterone, implicated in causing male type of baldness.
If the results are not appreciable by means of use of minoxidil and finasteride, it would be better to consider going in for hair transplantation.
Kindly consult Dermatologist in this regard for proper evaluation and management in case it does not bring the desired positive effects with you.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
