Can Straining Cause Throat Muscle Pain?

my throat muscles hurt. It feels lke my adam's apple, my larinx and whatever else is in my throat is strained and it's bothersome and hard to talk. I noticed the problem occuring a after I went to the amusement park and sreamed on all the rides. THat was a few weeks ago. I went to the ENT and he looked down my nose with a long tube witha light on the end and told me everything is normal. He perscribed Prylosec which made the pain worse. It's not acid reflex, it's my muscles which feel overworked. What can I do about this?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

The pain you feel in your larynx is due to screaming on all the rides (overexercised muscles). Take oral pain-killers like ibuprofen or ketoprofene.

Apply warm clothing locally on your neck area.
Have more drinks. Keep chewing gum all the time.
If Prisolec is making the pain worse, then, can have antacid after meal.
Take magnesium supplement.

It might take a few more days for the pain to get relieved.

Wish fast recovery.
