Can Stopping Of Zarah Birth Control Pills Causes Acne And Breakouts?

I need a recommendation for a good dermatologist as well as gynaecologist in Mumbai. I have been having severe acne problems which I suspect are because of stopping my birth control pills about 5-6 months back. The pill I was on was Zarah, I took it for about a year and then stopped as my husband and I wish to conceive over the next 2 years. I never had good skin even before getting on birth control. Acne was always a problem but now it is much worse and different from the kind I had before getting on the pill. The worst acne I am getting is on the jawline, so it seems hormonal, but I have had breakouts all over my face since October. I am mostly based in the US, but am in Mumbai for work and am looking to consult recommended specialists.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Zarah is an Oral contraceptive containing Drospyrinone and Ethinyl Estradiole and as it is a hormone replacement therapy it helps regulation and maintenance of certain hormonal levels in body and as the intake is suddenly stopped it can lead to hormonal changes/imbalances in body and it can lead to Acne..
In case if you want to know about a good Dermatologist in Mumbai you can consult Healthcare Magic Customer support and they will guide you well.
As of now you can start topical treatment like Washing your face with Salicylic acid and glycolic acid containing facewash..
Apply a combination of creams containing Clindamycin+Niacinamide and Benzoyl Peroxide..
You can also apply Retinoids Con creams like Adapelene gel..
You can do cool compresses over pimples..
Exfoliate your skin twice a week using a gentle scrub..
Drink plenty of water, avoid oily food and take more of green leafy vegetables and fruits..
You can also get treatment like Microdermabrasion and chemical peeling done..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
