Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have suddenly developed a round quarter size bruise on the top of my foot underneath the two toes closest to the big toe. No swelling or pain, but I don t recall hurting it in any way. It is somewhat gray in color. It is on my left foot. I had a bad sprain two months ago on my left ankle. Could this be related in some way...a weakness on my left side indicating something serious? I have been taking more aspirin than usual due to headaches the last two days.
This may not be related to ankle sprain but can be due aspirin intake. Possibility of blood clot is high. As per your symptoms it can be either soft tissue or vascular injuries. The bleeding that occurs result in hematoma collection. Over a period of time, as hematoma resolves it cause local skin symptoms around the hematoma.
Unless the large hematoma is compressing a nerve or you can do cold fomentation.
You may need to stop aspirin consulting your doctor. If required you may need to do blood investigation for prognosis and recovery. Take precaution to avoid infection around hematoma.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
