Can Sore Throat, Fever, Tonsils Spots, Neck And Ear Soreness Be Treated?
My daughter is 20 years old and has a severe sore throat with fever and black and white spots on her tonsils. We took her to the doctor yesterday and she was negative for strep. They said she has an abscess and gave her amoxicillan- she has had 2 doses in the last 12 hours. Could this be getting worse instead of better? She still has a fever and her neck and ear are sore still. I am thinking of taking her to ER. She is in a lot of pain.

Hi,
It seems that she is having acute follicular tonsillitis.
As antibiotic is started, wait for a day or two, it takes some time to start its effect.
Along with antibiotic give anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen.
Ask her to do alt water gargle.
give light diet.
Ok and take care.
