Can Someone With Klinefelter Syndrome Have Excess Body Hair?

Can someone with Klinefelter syndrome have excess body hair? My son is 17 y/o, has gynecomastia, small testes and small penis, pear shape fat distribution (overweight) and long limbs. Several characteristics of this syndrome. However he has also excessive body hair, chest and back, and he is starting developing normal male pattern baldness.

Welcome to HCM
This is Dr Amit. Let me help you in this case.
According to me klinfelter syndrome don't cause excess body hair as there is lack of testosterone means that during puberty the normal male sexual characteristics do not develop fully with small testes and penis. There is reduced facial and pubic hair, and some breast tissue often develops.
The lack of testosterone is also responsible for other symptoms, including infertility.
I will advice you to seek medical advice and carry out karyotype. A blood sample is taken from your son and the chromosomes are studied. This test will confirm the diagnosis.
Feel free to ask if you have any other query
