Can Smoking Cause Whistling And Raspy Voice While Breathing?

Hi sometimes I hear a raspy noise or a small whistle when I take a deep breath. I am a former smoker. Could this be from recently quitting and my lungs healing ? Sometimes I feel like I can t reach a complete satisfying deep breath. I am not coughing ,

smoking effect the respiratory system with gradual change and change of epthilia. tothe extent it goes for developing carcinomatous changes . only thing is it is reversible toa certainextant and upto certain point. so better to quit smoking.
