Can Smoking Cause Leaky Valves Shown In Echo Test?
I m a 41.yo female smoker. Just had an echo and stress.test due to increased.heart rate. Stress.text was normal but she commented leaky valves on echo but wasn t too concerned. I have a follow up w.her on monday. Of course I am freaking out now. Can smoking have caused this? Anything else that could have caused it?
No smoking will not cause leaky valve however if there is mild regurgitation then it is a normal phenomenon in a 2d echo test. Dont worry and speak to your cardiologist
