Can Small Hard Lump On Mouth Roof Be A Symptom Of Mouth Cancer?

Hi, I ve had a small hard lump on the roof of my mouth exactly on the border of the soft and hard palate pretty much dead on center. I ve had it for over 2 years and not really thought much of it but recently I ve noticed it again and been freaking out.. It s sort of oval and slightly pale to look at. It feels small but defined. It s only about 3-5mm round.. It sometimes gets irritated if I ve eaten hard food.. I am terrified I have mouth cancer. I ve smoked for 5 years and possibly the biggest hypochondriac. I have an appointment with a doctor tomorrow but I feel she isn t very experienced and therefore if she says it s nothing to worry about I feel like I won t believe her and that I d rather have every test under the sun to make sure. I m also 6 months pregnant so terrified if it is serious. please help :(

Hi
Thanks for your query.
This lesion which is very small and unchanged for 2 years is unlikely to be cancer. So not to worry and please trust the doctor you are seeing.
Hope this helps,
Regards
