Can Sinus Infection Caused Ear Drainage Be Treated With Hydrogen Peroxide?

My 16 year old started AMOX/K Clav 875 MG twice daily for sinus infection, the Doctor also said inner ear was red with a little bit of fluid but did not have pus. He started the RX on Saturday July 5, 2014. This morning he had a little fluid leak out of his ear. He has no pain, but feels like it is blocked or that he does not hear quite as well, mostly annoying. Can we or should we use Hydrogen Peroxide to help? or because it is in the inner ear it will not be effective?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.
Yes any upper respiratory tract infection can cause middle ear infection.
Pus leaked out of middle ear is good. Because collected pus can increase the infection.
Do not any hydrogen peroxide for cleaning
You can use any antibiotics ear drops.
Once the ear infection and congection reduces, blocked feeling also reduces.
Keep your ear dry.
Don't put water ,oil or any other liquid for cleaning.
Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
