Can Single Dosage Of Lisinopril Be Split Into Two Dosages?

I am on Lisinopril 10mg as a 53 yr old male 240 lb. If I split the dose into 5 mg in the morning and 5mg at night will this be better, worse, or no real difference? I was at about 150/100 prior to the medication. I am now at about 130/85. My next available appointment is not until the end of February.

Hi
Antihypertensives are usually taken in a single dose preferably in the morning because blood pressure is seen to be rising more in the morning. It is easy, comfortable and convenient. Splitting the lisinopril in two doses is not a good idea; rather, its pharmacological effect may not be that much. Moreover, antihypertensives should not be taken in evening or bed time before sleep. It is one thing that if any adverse reaction is there, then it would be difficult to manage.
