Can Severe Pain In Lower Abdomen Like Menstrual Cramps Be Conception Pain?

Hi,
I am 20 years old, and for the past three days and counting I have had severe pain that seemed like menstral cramps at first seeing as though the pain was in my lower abdomen. (Im not due for my period for another week and a half) By the second day the pain had moved up some, now being at about right below my belly button. I have had a terrible headache, nausea, and suprisingly not many bowel movements since all this accured. My husband thinks they may be "conception pains" (if there is a such thing) and we did have unprotected sex about two weeks ago. However the only thing that has me concerned is that I had a bladder infection not too long ago and I was wondering if that could be the cause of all this?

HI.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
*This is not due to conception pain for sure, and it is not expected for the husbands to know about this.
Well, you were already a known case of UTI-
I would suggest you the following:
Pain in abdomen bellow the belly button, nausea and headache together can be due to the following reasons:
Urinary tract infection as you have a history of;
Can be an intestinal infection. Loose stools may not be present in all the cases .
The best part is the antibiotics given for such a consition are going to act with same efficacy in either of the problems.

Hence start on an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotic, symptomatic for headache, PPI and Domperidone for the headache and nausea.

If you get a relief, complete the course of 5 to 7 days.

If no complete relief you have to undergo tests :
*Routine blood investigations like Complete blood picture, blood sugar, urea, creatinine, liver function tests, thyroid function tests. WIDAL
*Urine -routine and microscopy- culture and sensitivity.
*Stool: routine, microscopy, occult blood, culture and sensitivity.
*Ultrasonography of abdomen,
*Colonoscopy if colitis is suspected

These investigations will help to get a correct diagnosis to get a perfect plan for treatment.
