Can Rhinoplasty Be Performed If Previously Smoked Cigarettes?

hi, i very rarely smoke cigarettes, when i m out with friends, i ll have one or two glasses of wine or beer and smoke maybe 3, max. 4 cigarettes, then go weeks, sometimes months and not touch it. I quit last august of 2013 - anyway, my rhinoplasty is in 13 days, and I smoke 4 cigarettes today and had a pint of beer... am I okay for the surgery? I m kind of freaking out, as I ve been reading the boards and didn t realize the seriousness of it, but the last time I had a cigarette was two weeks ago, and it was only 2.

Hello

Although it is not advisable to smoke before rhinoplasty , as it can affect the results , but there are still two more weeks left , so i dont think you have to be too concerned and can go ahead with your surgery , However i would like you to discuss this with your operating doctor as he may need to examine your nose and decide accordingly. Please do no smoke from now onwards.

Thanks
