Can Repeat Dose Of Meftal-p Be Given In 5 Hours For 2.8 Year Old?

Hi Doctor, My kid 2.8yrs old is having fever on and off and cough since 10 days . But since yesterday, regular and severe. we wen to doctor y'day early hours. Doctor said there is some congestion in the chest. Ears and throat are fine, No infection. Last night 10pm I gave him 5ml meftal-p suspension 5ml. Fever subsided a bit and now again he his 102(3.46am). It is around 5hours, since the time I gave him meftal-p. Can I give him again now?

Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

Meftal -P can be given every 6th hrly. But from the clinical symptoms its clearly evidenet that your kid is having some lung infection ,otherwise fever may not recurr continuously.

I suggest you to consult a pediatrician and get done Chest X-ray and blood work which gives sufficient info. for diagnosis
