Can Red Eye Be A Symptom Of Low Iron Or Kidney Problem?

My son is 15 he has low iron the doctor said his kidneys may not be working right. Today he got up and his eyes are all red in the whites with darker red in some spots. Will that be part of his low iron or kidney problems. He also has ibs and cronic epstin barr.

One should initially treat as common viral infection and watch.
