Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father has undergone surgery of TURP for enlarged prostate 3 months ago and his routine urine test reveals presence of 30-40 pus cells.

Presence of pus cells indicates inflammation of the prostatic fossa(Space) created by resection of prostate and does not necessarily mean any infection.

Do not worry this is common to have Pus cells for 3-4 months and does not need to be worried.

Please give him prophylactic antibiotic like Norfloxacin and ask him to drink more water.

This will get resolved soon.
