Can Pulmonologist Able To Tell About Marijuana Smoking By Patient?

I smoke marijuana on occasion, and I have a few questions:
1-will my pulmonologist be able to tell at my next regular visit?
2-will he be allowed to tell my parents? I'm currently 17
3-After I turn 18, will any doctors I have be able to tell my parents if I'm still seeing the same doctors as I am now?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks you for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, pulmonologist can not tell which substance smoking you are doing.
Pulmonologist can only tell whether lung damage due to smoke is present or not and the severity of lung damage.
At present you are minor, so pulmonologist has to tell your parents about your smoking habit.
After the age of 18 years, without your permission, doctor can not tell or disclose your disease or personal information.
So better to quit smoking as soon as possible, it is not good habit.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
