Can Prostate Cancer Be Treated?

Hi, my husband has prostate cancer which has gone into the bone and now it is found in the bone marrow. He is on a chemo treatment, but what is his prognosis? I am sure his doctors want to give him hope because that helps with the treatment, but I want reality. I know unless there is a miracle from God he is terminal, but I would be able to handle this much better if I knew how long he has in the best case scenario.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. As per your history is concerned please follow my advise below:

1) Check current PSA level as well as Alkaline phosphate level

2) Ask your Treating Doctor what is Greson score?[2------10]

3) There are Four stages like this Stage I, Stage II, Stage III, and stage IV. Ask your treating physician his[ stage] in my opinion his stage looks like STAGE IV

4) Treatment depends upon STAGES only, (In a prostate cancer case total time is 5 years from diagnosis maximum)

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
