Can Prolonged Crying Lead To Vocal Cord Damage?

Hi Doctor,

For the last two nights, i left my kid(who is 4 month old) to cry for long(around 1 hour) at a stretch. I could see that his voice has become hoarse. I'm scared that he might have vocal cord damage or not.

Please help me.

Thanks and Regards,

Jisha

Hi,
From history it seems that kid might be having infantile colic giving this problem.
Initial 3-4 months infant might get this colic, particular at night.
This is common condition, nothing to worry.
See that child is getting enough breast milk.
Give him Colimax or cyclopam drops for infantile colic.
Due to constant crying he might get hoarseness of voice and will be alright.
Ok and take care.
