Can Peroxide Be Used For Oozing From Ear With Impaired Hearing?

I think my daughter's eardrum has ruptured. She has been on antibiotic since Friday for strep. Her ear is yellow way down inside and it is oozing and she says it sounds muffled. A friend of mine told me to just put peroxide in her ear since she was already on antibiotic. Is this a good or a bad idea?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that yellow appearrence of ear along with ear discharge and muffled hearing can be due to Ear infection and as the healing is disturbed it can be due to ruptured ear drum or it can also be due to fluid accumulation behind the eardrum..
As she is already on antibiotics you need not to put anything inside the ear like Peroxide as it can further worsen the condition..
You should continue giving her antibiotics as well as avoid excessive water exposure to Ear like swimming..
Avoid exposure to loud sounds as well as do not put anything inside the ear..
In case if symptoms does not get better consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can also manually drain the fluid along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkiller..
Antibiotic ear drops and decongestant nasal spray can be advised..
