Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Hope you are feeling better now.
Clomid does not induce ovulation. It is a drug given to increase the number of follicles that develop and become dominant (usually 1 without medication) each month.
This increases you chances of getting pregnant.
The actual ovulation depends on your hormone levels and the maturity and quality of the eggs.
An illness can put the body under
stress which can affect ovulation (either delay it or avoid it for this cycle). It depends on when, in your cycle, you fell sick.
If you get your period as scheduled, it is likely that you ovulated on schedule. If not, it is possible that it could be delayed for upto 2 weeks.
If you don't get you period even then, I suggest you see your
OBGYN.
I suggest that you continue to have intercourse as usual during your fertile period, if you have recovered from your illness.
The fertile period is usually in the middle third of your cycle (day 10-20 in a 30 day cycle, for instance), provided your cycles are regular.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health and hope you conceive soon
