Can Oral Contraceptive Pills Be Used For An Ovarian Cyst?

Hello, I am suffering from ovarian cyst which is in left ovary and 4.5 mm approx in size, along with septation and two calcific foci, diagnosed in Nov.2016, now it s reduced marginally in size, and Dr. prescribed me Ovral-g for 21 days, and repeat scan on 22 day, should I go for this OC pills?

Thanks for letting us know your health concern. In the current scenario, your doctor has suggested the use of oral contraception to arrest ovulation and thereby reduce the chance of recurrence. Since the size of the ovarian cyst is small, watchful observation is advisable. However, since it is a complex cyst, active management should be planned as and when needed. Hope this helps.
