Can Nausea, Dizziness, Stomach Bloating And Lower Back Pain After Tubal Ligation Be Signs Of Pregnancy?
Hi I'm 40. I had tubal ligation in 2008 after my 3rd child. My period delayed 7 days. I have all the pregnancy symtoms; nausea, dizziness, stomach bloating, heart burn and tiredness. I hv pain on my left ovary and lower back pain on and off. I too have period kind of pain on and off. Am I pregnant or i hv some other medical problem?Pls advice
Pregnancy after tubal ligation is always a possibility. sometimes the tubes get recanalized and pregnancy may result. As it has been 7 days since you missed your period, better get a urine pregnancy test with the first morning sample of urine. If the test is negative and you continue to have pain, get an ultrasound examination. This is because sometimes after tubal ligation, the pregnancy occurs in the tubes [called ectopic pregnancy] and it causes pain. This is a serious condition. The urine test may not be always positive in such cases as the baby sometimes aborts inside.
Another reason for the delayed period and pain could be a ovarian cyst that causes delayed periods and pregnancy like symptoms due to high hormone levels. Again an ultrasound helps to diagnose this.
Hope I was able to help you. Thanks for using HCM. Dr Madhuri Bagde Have a good day.
