Can Missed Periods Be A Pregnancy Despite Negative Tests?

Well, I was feeling pregnant so I went to the doctor the day before I was supposed to start my period in March.. They then had me give them a urine sample and it came back negative and they told me to come back in 2 weeks if I hadn't started my period yet.. So I went back 2 weeks later and gave them another urine sample and it came back negative again.. And now it is April and I have missed another period and I am having all the pregnancy symptom.. Can I still be pregnant??

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully gone through your query, and I think I have understood your concern. I will try to address your medical concerns and would suggest you the best of the available treatment options.

1.First of all do not panic.

2.As you have missed more than 2 months and your pregnancy tests are negative , you can assume that you are not pregnant.

In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

3. USG will also be of help to rule out PCOS as a cause of delay in the periods.

4.I will suggest you to induce the periods with a course of progesterone tablets. Your treating doctor will guide you about the doses and withdrawal bleeding of the same.
