Can Medicines Give False Positive Pregnancy Tests?

Hi, I think I might be pregnant but i'm not sure. If i go by the first day of my last period it would have been dec 13. I took a few test last week & they were both negative. I bled a little yesterday & today but not enough to wear a pad, just enough to see it when I wipe. When do you think I should test again? Also, I'm on a bunch of medications, can meds give you false negatives? Also one of them carbmirzapine (sp?) someone told me that its dangerous to get pregnant on that one, is that true?

Hello
I have read your question and want to tell some facts regarding A false positive hCG pregnancy test, a positive hCG test when you are not pregnant, rarely happens, but if it happens then it can be seen both with blood and urine tests, though in each case, the causes can be slightly different.
Causes are:If you receive shots of hCG or gonadotropins.
If you read the test after the suggested time has passed.
Certain rare medical conditions such as trophoblastic disease, islet-cell tumors
Medications - Some drugs like Methadone, chlordiazepoxide, or promethazine can give a false positive pregnancy test.
Carbamazipine can cause false positive results.
This drug can cause birth defects in growing baby so it should be avoided .
Blood and urine both should be tested to confirm pregnancy.
Good luck.
