Can Magnesium Supplements Be Taken While Being On Amlodipine Besylate For High BP And Having Stress?

Hi, I take 7.5 mg of Amlodipine Besylate once daily for high blood pressure. I also have a lot of stress. I wanted to start supplementing my diet with 200-600 mg of magnesium daily; I ve read that stress causes a deficiency. Does this sound reasonable and safe to you? Thanks

Hello
You are taking AMODIPINE 7.5 mg for high blood pressure .
It don't interact with any form of magnesium .
Magnesium with calcium are crucial for neuromuscular activitY.
Hypomagnesemia may cause generalized alteration in neuromuscular function, including tetany, tremor, seizures, MUSCLE WEAKNESS, vertigo.
Oral magnesium salts in divided dosage totaling 20 to 30 mmol/day is sufficient.
Diarrhea may occurs with large doses .
But once again I say consult a physician and get his opinion regarding magnesium intake .
Hope this will help you.
