I found a hard pea sized lump on the left inside (toward the back, closer to the anus)of my vaginal opening, less than a fingertip inward. Went to dr and they said it might be a lipoma. But it s hard to feel in stirrups easier to feel sitting and I m 24 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and 29 years old. Opinions?
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Although it might require a physical and clinical assessment of the lesion you have described, it could be a benign lump of lipoma as your doctors said, but the hard consistency as described by you might not go in favour of it. If I were your family physician, I would have referred to a gynae spcialist to examine the same and go for any related investigations like an ultrasound to reach near to a diagnosis. If the lump persists even in the post partum period, I would advise you to consider for a histopatholgical test of the biopsied specimen at that time.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
