Jan 2005 I had aortic valve and root replacement..Before surgery I was not experiencing any significant symptoms exercised four to five days a week but..Through a routine exam I was found to have a murmur which after further examination it was determined i had a bicuspid valve along with stenosis..The valve was replaced with no complications and for the last nine years my life has been totally normal with the exception of taking coumadin on a daily basis..What i have been experiencing of late is insomnia (3 to 5 hours sleep) then toss and turn the rest of the night..I stay tired and even though I feel fatigued I still exercise and can do so without any real side affects like short of breath..I get a yearly heart exam and I do in fact have some leakage around the mechanical valve (st.Jude)..Echogram is performed every other year last one I had was in 2013 none this year..I am concerned maybe the leak maybe causing my lack of sleep and tiredness I feel thru the day..I take two BP meds. toprol xl and norvasc..Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated...
