Can Itchy Dry Patches On The Mons Pubic Symptoms For STD?

i have moderately itchy patches of what looks like dry skin on my pubis mons. i'm extemely worried it could be an std, yet it doesnt seem to fit normal herpes symptoms. what could i be? i have no other spots on my body, which is why i think there's a high probability of an std.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would rather keep a possibility of fungal infection. Dryness/scaling along with itching seems to suggest that it may be a fungal infection rather than an STD.

If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested you to use an OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazole cream for 4-6 weeks, at a stretch. Stopping it mid way would allow the fungus to come back again.

Along with that, I would also suggest an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150mg once every week for 4 -6 weeks.

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would provide symptomatic relief from itching.

regards
