Can Irregular Periods Cause Delay In Periods?

Hi I m 24 with two kids. My periods been irregular. I m trying to have a baby. I went to get a yearly check up and the doctor felt me and said my uterus is soft. She sad it could be early sign of pregnantcy. But I have a period again. I was wondering what it means.

I have read your question and I understand your concern.
Well a missed period could be because of number of reasons like uterine fibroids, polycystic ovaries, premature ovarian failure, eating disorders (extreme weight loss or excessive exercise), or a pregnancy. If your periods are irregular and you don't have mensis even after the longest period you ever had, then a urine dipstick pregnancy test should be done at that time. An irregular period by itself can cause a delay in periods, but the delay in period should better be checked for pregnancy by a urine dipstick test.
