Can Intake Of Humulin N And Humalog Insulin Be Changed To Novlin N Insulin?

I m currently injecting Humulin N and Humalog insulin using a sliding scale. I was diagnosed at age of 14 and I m 52 now. I m currently in fare health with the insulin I m using. My insurance blue cross blue shield does not want to cover the types of insulin I m taking. Blue cross will cover Novlin N insulin. I m not interested in switching my insulin. My A1C stays in normal range and feel good. what should I do?

hi,
for any diabetic the goal is to keep sugars under control as per recommendations.
The type, dosage, brand and purity of insulins do not affect the long term outcome.
you can comfortably switch to newer insulin without any worry. The protocol, dose and frequency however, will be given by your treating doctor.
Hope i am clear.
