Can Intake Of HGH Cause Stroke?

I have an artificial mitral valve & take warfarin. I ve been taking HGH for a couple of weeks, and it has not interfered with my INR. Today I bought more at a store & was told by the clerk that her mother had a stroke from taking HGH. Is it possible that there is a link?

Hello,

Use of HGH has definitely been linked to high risk of stroke, because it causes an increase in Blood pressure , which inturn is a risk factor for stroke.
But the risk has been accounted only as long term side effects with highest doses( nearly two decades after treatment)

As you mentioned, you have been taking HGH only for a couple of weeks,so check on the dose that you have been taking with your concerned physician.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
Dr.Pallavi Jain
