Can I Take Restoril For Sleep Disorders?

I have suffered from sleep disorders ever since I was a child. I am now 61. I have not had more than 3 hours sleep for about 3 monts now.. trazdone and ambien don t work for me . I have some restoril and want to take it. I cannot function any more with this sleep issue. My new psychiatrist does not seem to be understanding.

Greetings !

Well it is likely that restoril ( i.e generic - temazepam ) will help you at dose of 7.5 -15 mg taken before bedtime but you got to convince your psychiatrist so as to allow you to take it plus you shall have to come off ambien and trazodone while trying restoril as their additive effect may lead to too much sedation thereby affecting your morning schedule.

So while restoril can be a good choice for your insomnia but you need to seek your doctor's approval to use the same.

I hope this helps.

Regards.
