Can I Take Follic Acid With Thyroxine To Get Pregnant ?
I have thyroid 5.90 I have been told to take thyroxine25 half tablet a day,I got my periods last month on12th june,i had ealier done a coursr of diane35,after the course i got my perios 4days late,this month i have not yet got it at all,i have also done pregnancy tesy,its negative,I want to get pregnant ,me&my husband have started planning,I want your advice whether thyroxine tablet is correct and should I start taking folic acid,if so then what tablet to take for folic acid,I m very worried what to do for my periods,help me,im nt able to sleep in the night as well.i am taking throxine also regularly.

TSH of 5.9 is called sub clinical hypothyroidism which doesnt actually require treatment unless you have symptoms of hypothyroidism in which case treatment is valid.
Folic acid is taken to prevent neural tube defects and it has nothing to do with hypothyroidism

I guess you are talking about TSH 5.9. Yes its high (subclinical hypothyroidism) and need treatment cause you are trying to conceive( ideal level should be less than 3). Thyroid problem can be brought under control by frequently doing thyroid profile and taking thyroxine according to the requirement. 25 micro gm is starting dose and it can be adjusted according to your requirement. As you have taken Diane 35 so i suspect you have poly cystic ovaries with increased testosterone levels ???? And you are in stress which itself is contributing factor in infertility. This is the time to be positive and go ahead with the treatment. Dont get tensed , all problems can be treated. you ll conceive soon. Reduce weight. Folic acid will be definitely helpful before conception. Take care.
