Can I Take 'ecosprin' To Reduce Cholesterol Levels?
My age is 35 yrs. I have a family history of heart attack. My father had a attack in 1999. he is having medicine and till now everything is fine with him. My elder brother expired 6 months back suddenly because of heart enlargement. I have a problem of high cholesterol about LDL 170 and total cholesterol was 264. But for last one month i am having ecosprin 75 and rozat 10,resvita. I have done blood test for lipid profile 02 days back and my ldl and total cholesterol have gone down to normal. I would like to know is it due to ecosprin and rozat 10 or only due to rozat 10. Also I would like to know is it good or bad to have ecosprin from this age or I have to continue having all these medicines. I am yet to visit my doctor.
Your cholesterol levels have decreased due to rozat (rosuvastatin). Aspirin (Ecosprin) don't affect cholesterol level. Usually I don't go with statins (Cholesterol lowering medications) and aspirin in young patients unless there is high risk. In your case you have cardiovascular events in your family, one of which in young age. These factors increase your risks. So there may be need to go with the medication lifelong If you were my patient, I would perform stress test. In case it is negative I would try intensive lifestyle changes. If it doesn't work when I would prescribe medication
Hope I could help you
Wish you good health
Regards, Dr. Baghdasaryan
