Can I Give Metrogyl To My Child For Loose Motions?

Hi my 10 months old son has been with diarrhea since Friday. Had seen our doctor on saturday and he put my son on metrogyl suspension 200ml/5ml. I have been giving my son 5mls every 8hrs. My son vomitted the entire day on Sunday . His vomiting has slowed down. He still has the watery stool, which I thought should have stopped by now. I am also breast feeding him and giving him boiled water. He is not eating much, just nibble of banana, pureed apple and sweet potato. Should I continue with the metrogyl suspension?

thanks for your querry. Please stop metrogyl. Continue breast feeds and semisolid foods, whatever he is happily taking. If his vomitings persists then one dose of syrup domstal 2.5 ml can be given.Kindly ensure that he is taking enough fluids (breast feeds). In case you feel his fluid intake is less than what he is loosing in loose stools ,then do give him oral rehydrating solution (electral). His loose stools are likely to settle in next 2-3 days.
I hope my answer will be useful to you.
