Can Hypothyroidism And Diabetes During Pregnancy Cause Any Complication?

I m 32. I have suffered from hypothyroidism since 2008. I take levothyroxine. I was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a month after my pregnancy was discovered. I take humalog and humalin shots. Shortly after my endocrinologist said I couldn t get pregnant, I conceived my third child. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with him and I want to know what factors could effect my baby. Will he be healthy? What are my risks? I don t drink, smoke, or do drugs.

Hi, I think if your thyroid and sugar levels are under control, your baby will be fine. Bit as you told, your diabetes was diagnosed 1 month after pregnancy, it might have affected the baby at the time of organ formation. So, I think if you have not done a level 2 scan at 20 weeks, you can ask for it now. Also get a foetal echo done. It is generally done at 22 weeks. Hope it helps.
