Can High Ejection Fraction Be As Bad As Low Ejection?

29 yr old female, average weight. I have been having severe nausea, right abdominal pain radiating through to my back and shoulder, full and bloated feeling at top of stomach. Blood work shows high cholesterol and extremely high triglycerides. CT and ultrasound show gallbladder wall thickening. HIDA scan showed 90% ejection fraction, so my doctor doesn't think anything is wrong. Can high ejection fraction be as bad as low ejection? He said that he's never seen one so high, but still thinks it's normal. I don't feel normal! He insists there is nothing wrong with me, but I feel horrible; barely able to function.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. High ejection fraction is the percentage amount of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each pumping. 90% is really good, indicating your heart is functioning well.
2. As you heart is functioning well, it does not appear to be a cardiac problem.
3. Bloated stomach feeling along with nausea could be due to gastritis with reflux esophagitis. You will need proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole or esmoprazole along with domperidone.
4. Also additionally avoid ingestion of air during food intake. Probiotics and yogurt will be useful to improve gut commensal bacteria. Need to work towards increased cholesterol and triglycerides through weight reduction, diet control with low fat and exercises. Medications could be necessary, depending on levels and statins may need to be started.
Hope it helps.
