Can Hemorrhoids Be Successfully Banded?

I have a liquid that leaks out of my rectum, and the Dr. thinks its from my hemorroids, which she said are internal, but stick out. She thought it might help if she bands them. I m a little afraid that it might make the problem worse and I might have fecal discharge after it s done. Are there any satistics on the success rate of this procedure.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of leaking of liquid per rectum, which your Doctor connects to the internal hemorrhoids which stick out.
This means that the piles are not internal but are called intero-external.
And banding done in a proper way is very successful in helping to cure hemorrhoids.
You do not have to be afraid of any complications if done in a proper ways from a proper Surgeon, well experienced in this procedure.
At the same you have to have additional treatment to treat constipation, anxiety or so.
Statistic are not much available but the experience certainly indicate a success story if done by an experienced surgeon.
