Can Heat Sensitivity, Hot Flashes, Short Temper After Graves Disease Be Treated?
Hi! When my son was 17 years old he was diagnosed with Graves Disease (Hyperthyroid). He was eventually given radioactive iodine to destroy his thyroid. It was successful. He has been on Synthroid for about a year and a half. The Dr. has adjusted his medicine strength but he is still very sensitive to heat and gets hot flashes often. He gets overwhelmed easily and is short tempered. He is now 19 years old and I haven t found a doctor who has been able to help him. His thyroid blood test come out normal. There is something wrong. He struggles to get through life. Please help!!

your son needs repeat thyroid profile done .free t3 t4 and tsh levels
check the tsh and thyroglobulin level.
he may need a radio iodine scan to check if there is still a functioning thyroid tissue in the body.
need to check whether the dosage is adequate or is in excess. dosage is always individualised. hence consult the doctor
