Can Heart Murmur Get Worse By The Age?
my doctor has mentioned that I have a heart murmur - I have had bypass surgery about 17 years ago. I am 72, with diabetes (fairly well controlled) and I am overweight. Can this murmur get worse with age or is it just nothing to really worry about as long as I continue losing weight and watching my eating habits

I would suggest you to get echocardiogram done to explore for cause for which you need to see an cardiologist.Usually murmurs indicate blood flow abnormalities through the valves in the heart due to incompetency either in openings of heart or the valves or in abnormal dilatation of chambers of heart.most of the incompetencies are correctible withh supportive medicines and occasionally with repair surgery
