Can Having Nodule In Lung Cause Cancer?

I am 30 years old and the doctors have found a 1.8 module in my left lower lung. I have done test to check for valley fever and TB both came back negative. Now I have to do a PET scan. I have had cancer before from an HPV and they did a hysterectomy. Should I be worried this is cancer?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Since you are a uterine cancer survivor, this nodule in lung can be due to metastasis.
Uterine malignancy is known to metastasize to lungs. And in initial stages, metastatic lesion looks like nodule only.
So your current nodule can be due to cancer.
But it is too early to say this.
You need to get done CT scan every three monthly and if nodule is increasing in size then biopsy is needed to confirm malignancy.
But if nodule is static or decreasing in size then no need to worry for malignancy. It might be due to benign cyst or fibrosis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
