hello,
most probably your doctor is right in saying it is a gas problem. because as soon as you lie down the distended stomach irritates the diaphragm which you feel referred to your heart. but just to be on the safer side you can get an ecg done which will more clearliy depict if it is heart problem. also it will be of a great significance if u get the ecg done when you actually feel the discomfort.
thanks
