Can Fiber Supplements Cause Yellow Bowel Movements?
I have been taking fiber supplements three times a day before meals with a big glass of water for about 3 months now and lately I have noticed some of those pills (not sure which ones) are in my bowel movements and are yellow or yellow around them. I didn t notice this with any other supplements I am taking though. What could this be?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history taking fiber supplements three time a day before the food. Noticed that some of the pills are in the stool coated with yellow, not happened with other supplements. My thoughts: Once you take any supplements that has not been very well researched, this happens as the capsule may be tough to be digested and hence covered with yellow stool, this is basically a mucus as the intestines produce in reaction to the undigested capsule which now acts as a foreign body. So nothing serious about it It is better to take the powder form with warm water for the supplements to be really active. Also watch for any other digestive issues. Get the stool checked as well as the routine blood tests. Gives clue as to the nature of the problems and gets a solution.
