Can Femoral Angioplasty Cause Breathing Difficulties?

My husband has been having difficulty breathing since his second femoral angioplasty. He is 69 yrs old, 6 ft tall approx 325 lbs. He is on high blood pressure meds and Plavix. He quit smoking a little over 2 months ago. Despite his size, the breathing wasn't an issue until after the 2nd surgery.Recent ekgs and lung xrays since surgery looked fine. He is scheduled for a sleep study for the possibility of sleep apnea, but his breathing problems occur even when he is awake during the day. Help

HI welcome to HCM,
Femoral angiography is extremely very rare to cause breathlessness, unless intra procedural complications supervene.the breathlessness could most likely be associated with congestive cardiac symptoms. secondary to long term high blood pressure. a screening 2d echo and x ray chest can help to diagnose the condition.
sleep apnea can be detected with polysomnography.drugs like diuretics will help.
consult your doctor for further management.
thank you
