Can Extra Benicar Medication Have Side Effects?

I can t remember if I took my Benicar 40 mg for today. I have been taking 20 mg at lunch & 20 at hs. Just checked my BP & 159/89. My Bp isn t really controlled with Bystolic 20 in am with spirolactone 12.5 in am; total of benicar 40 a day & clonidine 0.1 q 6-8 hr prn. I also take hctz 1-2 times a week to help it but still runs 140 s to 150 s. Don t think I took it & wondered side effects if accidentally wound up with 60 mg benicar.

It's effects do not go up directly with the dose; it has a safety range. Its effects are to lower blood pressure and the maximal effect it will have is about an hour after taking it. If you feel faint, dizzy, have an elevated heart rate, you might need emergency monitoring. Mostly, people wont' have symptoms and then, not much happened from it. You could just continue with the next day's dose at the usual time.
