Can Exposure To Carbon Monoxide Cause Dizziness, Passing Out And Chronic Pain?

I have malignant hypertension with severe nosebleeds and headaches. I also have many episodes of syncope. I have had a positive ANA test and D Dimer test (cat scans did not reveal any clots). I was also exposed to carbon monoxide for more than 1.5 years from my furnace. I have been in and out of the hospital many times this past year. I also had a pacemaker installed last May 13 because my pulse was only 22 bpm. Nobody has been able to figure out why I continue to get dizzy, pass out and am in chronic pain. I can t hardly walk anymore either because of the arthritis/pain in my hip. I m 56 and have always been in relatively good health until the carbon monoxide exposure began. Any ideas?

Hello,Welcome to the HCM,
yes carbon monoxide poisoning can cause these symptoms.you may having late signs of poisoning E.G..weakness,muscle pain, increased anxiety and depression, trouble moving, bending your arms or walking.
Since you are having other factors (malignant hypertention and autoimmune disease) too which can also cause these symptoms. You have been treated and evaluated for other above mentioned diseases ,but if you want to rule out effects of carbon monoxide gas then my opinion would be get blood gases test to check the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your blood,it can tell how much CO you have been exposed to.other test is breath analyzer which measures the amount of CO in your breath.
Hopefully my answer is helpfull.
