Can Exercise Be Continued After Having Atrial Fibrillation?

I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation about 2 weeks ago. It took about 20hrs on metoprolol to convert back to normal rythem. I am in the Army and about to go to school. Can i still do my exercise. Would be a 2 mil run pushups and situps. I am still taking 81m asprin and metoprolol.

Dear Sir
Thanks for your query.
The resumption of routine depends upon the cause of the AF, status of your heart pumping and if you still have AF. In my practice if patient do not have persistent AF, has normal underlying ECG and ECHO, I would subject them to exercise stress test before allowing them exercises. Hope your cardiologist will agree to this approach. In the meantime continue taking your medicines as prescribed.
